Tips:
Fixing Your Teeth With Veneers

Article by Heather Wilks

Porcelain veneer, also called merely dental veneer or laminates, are thin porcelain pieces that are attached to your teeth in order to improve your smile. In addition to providing an instant outward improvement, dentistry can sometimes improve your bite. Porcelain veneers will create the illusion that both grey or yellow colored teeth are vastly whiter than they actually are. This can exponentially improve the overall appearance of your smile. The application of veneer can also be useful for those with crooked teeth, as the veneer will give your smile a much straighter appearance.

Choosing to get porcelain dentistry is typically a wonderful decision for patients who have struggled to achieve the beautiful smile they desire. Once the veneers have been applied, clients often experience a boost in self-esteem and happiness. Porcelain dentistry, also, are applied in a procedure so non-invasive that most patients do not even require numbing shots. If you are looking to have your veneers applied in Atlanta or the surrounding area, there are a wide range of cosmetic dentists who can fulfill your needs.

Be sure to do your research before selecting your Atlanta area cosmetic dentist, as porcelain dentistry can provide outstanding aesthetic results if they are applied by a specialist.

Porcelain veneers can fix many dental problems, including:

-Uneven or overlapping teeth-Teeth that are drastically larger or smaller than others-Teeth that have been stained or darkened by certain birth control methods, such as tetracycline-Too much of your gum showing when you smile-Yellowed teeth that have not been repaired by various bleaching methods-Reducing extreme tooth sensitivity to a manageable level-Ground down and worn teeth that age the appearance of your face-Only in certain situations, repairing bite problems

Yet another benefit to porcelain dentistry are their incredible shield against staining from various sources, including coffee and nicotine.

Veneers typically have an extremely natural look and can last well over a decade before any replacements are necessary. Your veneers should be brushed, flossed, and otherwise cared for just as if they were your actual teeth. After a period of 48 to 72 hours you shouldn’t even feel a difference between your veneers and your natural teeth. The veneers should assimilate completely to the contours of your mouth.

At your first appointment for your new veneers, the dentist will make a mold of each of your teeth. Subsequently, the molds will be given to a dental lab at which point the porcelain veneers will be created from the casts of your teeth. After a period of time (usually two to three weeks), your porcelain dentistry will be ready and you will have your second dentist appointment. At this point, the veneers alpharetta will actually be applied to your teeth. The conventional method is to use an incredibly strong bonding glue to adhere the veneers to the natural teeth, but other techniques do exist. To find out exactly how various Atlanta-area dentists will apply your conservative veneers, you should call their offices.

I have used this product for many, many years because it’s the only floss that does the job right for crowded teeth. Over time I’ve used every floss the dentist recommended to me and tried some on my own but there is nothing that cleans tightly spaced teeth like Butler fine floss. The dentist even said I don’t have to come in twice a year to have my teeth cleaned because the floss does such a good job. (I use it every night).

Unwaxed floss cleans better, I think. Friction 101. Anyway, good product, but so hard to find now. I think I bought the last two packages in town, last year. I’m down to the last one and looking for a good source online. In Canada, the product is no longer Butler GUM but Sunstar GUM. Made in China. Sigh.

I have used Butler fine nonwaxed dental floss for years and prefer it to all others. It has always been difficult to find–the major drug store chains do not carry it–and it has now disappeared entirely from all drug store shelves.
